Description

Barry's Yard, off Townsend Street. What appears to be a small child stands in front of a dilapidated house. To the right of the picture can be seen a water pump and lamp-standard. A note accompanying this 1913 RSAI photograph points out that "The ruined cottage on the left is tenanted."

Many of our interviewees lived in this area.
