In this extract Angela McFarland remembers the tenement house she lived in when she first got married. She occupied two rooms in the house. She remembers that things were often difficult but there were good times there too. She tells us that you can't compare those times with now.

I mean there was no such thing as big mortgages at that time, I lived in a tenement house up the top in two big rooms, you know, and they were good times, there were ups and downs … I’m not saying it was all sunshine, it wasn’t but you had to get through … I mean these times and our times are two different times, you couldn’t compare them …
