Okay so what would you say is the best thing about being older now?

Ah...the best thing about being older now is … a lot of things you’ve learned in life, one thing you’ve learned in life is to be patient, I used to be very impatient, very quick tempered, I’m not like that now… sure I’m not?! But anyway we… like, I’ve learned that and I’ve learned like just to listen to things even if things could upset me, I just listen and I just let it roll over and I find this a very good time in your life, the only thing about it is everything is getting, you know …

Wearing out!

… wearing out, type of thing but I find it a good time and I’m glad, I’m happy with everything, I’m happy the way I am and all, I’m happy that things are good, you know, I’m happy that we’re going to be able to have our dinner today, I’m happy to be sitting here talking to you, you know what I mean? Like, these are all pluses, you know, so I’m doing okay, you know, so I’m happy enough with that. But they didn’t have that, they didn’t have sufficient heating, I always remember everyone would be just crouched over the fire, now we have a big radiator there, put on the gas and you have lovely heat …

So the day to day worries that they had you don’t have …

Ah it was terrible, they had a very hard life but we’ve a good life now, I think so now, anyway, yeah.
