Activities and social engagement

Remaining socially connected and engaged in later life has been found to be crucially connected to maintaining health and well-being. All of the participants who volunteered to take part in this study agreed that remaining as active as possible and engaged with their communities and social networks was very important to them.

In the following extract Betty Watson talks about the importance of social interaction particularly in later life. She believes that interaction is especially important in promoting a longer and happier life.
