"Lifescapes" is the first of a series of interactive, multimedia online digital resources from the Bridge-IT Project on the subject of ageing.

This is a new departure in Ireland in the communication of academic research.

The project hopes to develop a sense of "living history": breathing life that is voice-centred and creative into raw data and primary source material.

The intended audience is not just scholarly and academic, it is also members of the community, young and old.

The digital resource is intended to be an interactive connection point for older people who will be able to engage with the content.

Younger people are encouraged to use the materials here to help gain a greater understanding of what it's like to grow old in our society as well as to access insights into what it was like to grow up and live in Dublin during the lifetime of the participants. Students are invited to work with their teachers to build these resources into their own social and educational projects.
